I enjoyed A Life Spectacular and/or Happy Meals. Do you have any other books available?
I’m glad you enjoyed it, and you’ll be glad to know that I will be making more books available in future… if that proverbial bus doesn’t run me over, of course. Just sign up for my newsletter if you’d like to be notified of any new releases.
Are your books full-length novels?
Yes, they are. So if you’re one of those people who tend to fall asleep after reading only one page of a book, you’ll have more than a year’s worth of sleep-inducing bliss at your disposal. If you’re not, you’ll be glad you stayed awake.
Where can I get hold of your books?
Visit the Books page on this website and select the book you’re interested in. The book’s sales channels can be found towards the bottom of the page.
Should I buy the ebook or the print format?
That’s mostly a matter of preference.
However, due to the footnotes throughout the book, the print format might appeal to readers who prefer staying on the page, while others won’t mind pop-up footnotes or jumping between pages and footnotes, depending on their specific e-reader/platform.
I don’t have a dedicated e-reader, so how do I read the ebooks?
These days, most tablets, computers and smartphones have free apps available on their relevant store (e.g. Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Windows Store) through which you can search for and download apps like (e.g.) Kindle, Nook or Kobo. This allows you to buy the ebook from online retailers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Kobo, and read it on your preferred device. Some of them (like Amazon) give you the option to download the relevant app before/upon buying the book, which will then be downloaded to that app upon purchase.
The book I want is not available at one of the listed retailers? What should I do?
If you’re experiencing problems finding the book at any of the listed retailers, just leave a comment on the Contact page of this website and include the name(s) of the retailer(s) you’re having problems with. I’ll try to sort it out and get back to you as soon as I can.
My preferred online retailer isn’t on the list of retailers? Can you add it?
If your preferred retailer isn’t listed here, simply leave a comment on the Contact page of this website, stating which retailer you’d like to see added, and I’ll see if it’s viable/possible.
I’ve read a sample of the book on a retailer’s website, but why couldn’t I click on the footnote numbers in the sample?
As mentioned earlier, unlike the printed format that has footnote symbols with their corresponding humorous footnotes at the bottom of the relevant page, the footnotes in the ebook are endnotes, which appear at the back of the ebook. And as you can usually only see the first part of the book in a sample/preview, you might not have access to the endnotes. Unfortunately, this is the only way you can have footnotes/side-notes in some ebook formats. Fortunately, if you buy the ebook or the printed book, you can enjoy all the footnotes in the way they were intended to be enjoyed.
Are your books available in other languages?
Not yet, but if there is a high demand for a book to be in a specific language, I will assess the viability of having it translated.
Are any of your books available as an audiobook?
Not at this stage, but should there be a high enough demand for an audiobook, I’ll definitely look into it. Just leave a comment on the Contact page of this website if you’d like to see… sorry, hear an audiobook version of one of my books.
I see your books are called LightSide Novels. Is it a series?
LightSide novels are aimed at the lighter side of sci-fi, with a specific focus on the Charted Universe and even some of its neighbours. It’s not to say the stories don’t touch on darker, more serious matters, but when they do, they will do so in a… well, lighter manner.
Most LightSide novels will be standalone stories, though, with new and/or repeat characters.
I have a query that doesn’t appear in this FAQ. What should I do?
Please feel free to leave a comment with your query on the Contact page of this website. I’ll try to answer as soon as I can.
Why haven’t you replied to my query/comment/post?
While I’d love to respond to each and every message, I simply cannot always do so, due to time constraints and accidentally overlooking some messages. So unless anyone has a TARDIS I can borrow for a while, I can only correspond so much. I’ll try to respond to as many messages as I can, but if I haven’t come back to you and you have a serious issue, you’re welcome to try again. Now, seriously, if someone has a TARDIS they’re not using at the moment, please give me a shout…
